Works great with my refurbished PS2! controls are responsive and reliable. The foam pad keeps everything in place and it’s not slippery at all. I use it on carpet, so it does gradually creep backwards on the floor after a few songs. It would probably stay better on hardwood. Works as expected though! I highly recommend it!

With so many reviews claiming that these pads aren't durable, I was pretty hesitant to order them. Ultimately, I ordered a single pad (even though I really needed two) because there are so few other options available these days, and the pads that are sold at Gamestop or come bundled with DDR at retail are pretty much worthless. Like, "broken out-of-the-box" worthless.Since these pads are pretty inexpensive, I wasn't expecting much. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. The first one that I ordered not only worked properly, but was actually quite accurate and very comfortable. Since those three attributes easily place it in the top 1% of pads available today, I ordered another one, and it has also been working flawlessly. So far.In the interest of full disclosure, I've only had these pads for about 3 weeks, and I don't use them every day. If they continue to work properly 5 months from now, I would consider myself to be very satisfied with this purchase. $30 per pad is a great value if they last a reasonable amount of time. I'll write an update to this review a few months from now. Until then, I am cautiously optimistic.

I have looked around for a good, reliable pad that responds to steps ALL the time, and this pad does it! Over time, it tends to rip, especially if the 1" foam pad is used. This is the third pad I have bought because one of the original two I bought has ripped beyond using. I had it for close to year and danced several times a week, sometimes every day, so it was just wearing out. I consider replacing the pads once a year a reasonable investment because these pads are a great price and super responsive! If you want it to last longer, taking out the foam pad seems to put less stress on the pad and it lasts a lot longer. It also slips around less (virtually not at all) when the foam pad is removed as well, and it is still very comfortable to dance on, even without the insert.

Received the pad about a month ago so that I could begin playing DDR again over the summer. I used to play a lot during high school, and it was a fun way to stay in shape. I've had 2 hard-foam pads that lasted me about... 8 years with on-and-off playing, but they began to have sensitivity issues. I decided to order a new DDR pad so that I could play again over the summer. I figured that if my last two pads lasted for such a long time, a new one would be a good investment...When I plugged in this new pad and began to play, the timing of the arrows was way off--I'm a pretty good player, playing mostly heavy songs. Not only was the timing off, but the up and down arrows would randomly fire off, which wasn't helping with the timing either. I kept with it since I was playing to be active, not necessarily to get high scores. After playing a few times (and switching between different DDR versions), one day the pad starting working normally, and it was great. I was getting the scores I was used to. However, it didn't last too long, as I plugged in the pad to play (probably only the 15th or so time using it) and suddenly the left arrow wasn't working. At all. I tried re-plugging in the pad and restarting the PS2, but the left-arrow didn't want to work.Since I only paid $20 I'll continue to use the pad to stay active, but in the future (if they're even going to be making DDR pads in the future...) I'll likely buy a better pad and do more research. Take my advice; don't assume that because you had a hard-foam pad last for 8-ish years that a similar one would perform the same!

I have gone through many DDR pads in my day and this one has given more issues than the rest. Positives: I love the dance pad foam. It makes the whole experience much more pleasurable and easy on the joints. Another positive, it is very easy to assemble. Cons: not very accurate. I'm not sure if there is a breaking in period with this particular dance pad, but very often it does not register I'm hitting an arrow even when I most definitely am. This drives me crazy when it causes me to get "B"s on songs instead of "AA"s like I'm use to. DDR nerds know what I'm talking about :)I will report back if it starts to improve.
