I tried two variable speed 6 inch grinders, one by Greteefor and one by Wen. Both terrible - loud vibrations at low speed, metal on metal grinding. Both returned. I decided to try just a low speed 6 inch, since that's what I really need (I have a 40 year old high speed one), and low and behold, it is compact, and runs beautifully quiet and smooth. I'm so glad I held out for a good one. I just don't think they know how to make the variable speed correctly yet. Unless you really need variable, get this one. It also, by the way, fits nicely on the grinder stand sold with the Wen unit. Good hunting!

I am very impressed with this grinder. Although I haven't had it that long to comment on longevity, it does come with a impressive 2yr warrantee. What I like is the speed seems just right for sharping and the wheels are super smooth, right out of the box. Wobble free, smooth as can be!I would have given it a 5 star except the tool rest are set flat out and the angles are not adjustable so they are rather useless for sharping. I will be replacing them with something more practical very soon.

The grinding wheels that come with the grinder are not the best. I will need to invest in CBN wheels eventually. However, the grinder is quiet and runs true. It does the job.
