I’m really happy with this bike lock! Setting up the code was a breeze, and the lock is lightweight enough that it’s not a hassle to carry on my bike. It feels secure for the price, providing good peace of mind without being overly bulky.I’ve been using it for a few months now, and it’s held up well with no issues. The Fonesco bike lock does provide a really solid bang for your buck but I will say it's not the thickest chain, but again, for the money a decent purchase.I've used this lock for 3 months now and it has provided a reliable locking mechanism that is a VERY smooth open and close the entire time.Setting the initial pin was simple and just involved twisting the set tumbler shown in one of my photos and picking your passcode. If the unit is locked and you forget your pin you will have to cut the unit off as it needs to be opened to twist the "SET" tumbler.I cut the outer mesh myself to show the thickness of the chain inside as I was curious myself and figured others might want to see and referenced it with a loonie for scale and a medium sized orange as that was closeby and I was without a banana, unfortunately to help scale length.I can attest to the fact that the mesh was quite difficult and quite thick to cut through and I have no doubt it would last very well long term and provides a great coating to prevent scratching on the bike itself or a more comfortable feel if you sling it over yourself.The weight is very reasonable and it most definitely does not feel cheap. The teeth for the locking mechanism are metal and the pin code area and either side is plastic but I still feels quite hearty.I would recommend something of a higher gauge/thickness if you are greatly concerned but this has provided me either enough deterrent / security no one has tried to remove it. I am sure the cloth coating would definitely help slow a thief down a bit with bolt cutters over a plastic coated/regular chain.

It’s cover literally covers the entire length of the chain where as a lot don’t and it gives the person who’s trying to steal it an idea how thick or thin the chain is underneath it is. This one is heavy duty and looks mean. I love it. It’s also long enough to wrap around a few times depending what your locking up to.

This is what happened to my lock. a slight nudge, and it cracked open. So much for putting a thick chain, but a weak plastic lock.

Easy to set, easy to use, light enough to carry around. Any lock can be cut, including this one, but as a mid level deterrent, it's good for the price and the ease of use.

The lock is a 5 number lock, but when seating the the combination, anything other than 0 in position 1 won’t allow the lock to be closed. So it is a set O and 4 number combination

Works fine. Probably will deter basic bike thefts but if someone has some tools they can probably break it. That’s true with most other cheap locks too. If you’re looking for something that’ll definitely hold up I would buy a thicker chain and a separate metal master lock or something. But for the price this lock works alright. Easy to use and change the code.

Overall this is a very decent lock for the price. I had wanted a longer one as we have two eBikes and the plan is to use a single lock when we are travelling. What we noted was that on delivery, the length advertised was the full stretched out length of the full chain. When you insert the one end of the lock into the other, the actual "locked" length is a few inches less. We contacted the vendor and they committed to rewriting the listing for clarity and provided some compensation as we did keep the lock in the end. While we did not get the complete length we expected, the vendor was excellent and prompt in following up with out concerns. Overall, we would reccommend as the quality seems very good and the covering over the chain is pliable and will protect the paint.
