I had to replace a broken rim and decided to use these nipples instead of the original brass nipples to add some colour to my wheel! These are just fine, they are lightweight and did the job. Now, I've built plenty of wheels with aluminum nipples and the best thing you can do is use a drop of triflow to provide a smooth turn. These alloy nipples are a good fit and have a firm thread.
