I just discovered gaffer tape... I wonder how I could have made it without all those years. Less toxic that a lot of tapes, nice finish on my project.

This is very disappointing compared to good quality gaffer tape. The feel is more plasticky than fabric-like, and it is hard to rip by hand in small pieces. Also, it doesn't hold well on a lot of surface. I labelled several bins with it, and te majority fell off after a while.

I work as a musician and music director, mostly in theatre, and it’s always a great idea to have gaffer tape on hand for securing a multitude of cables, holding sustain pedals in place, covering annoying flashing LEDs, etc. Bought this brand and have loved using it. I don’t agree with the reviews that say the adhesive isn’t strong – this stuff really sticks in my experience! Will definitely be buying it again. Great price too.

I had never heard of this type of tape before I saw it mentioned in a movie and wondered what it was. I read lots of reviews and chose to try this brand based on people's opinions of it and the price. I wasn't exactly sure what I would use it for, but I wanted to try it. I am so glad I did. It holds down rugs without leaving residue like Duct Tape. I have been able to eliminate many trip hazards for my parent's. I have used it to hold a binding on a book till I could fix it permanently and it left no sticky residue. It PAID FOR ITSELF though in a very unusual way. I had a coupon that was a peel off sticker stick to my new down jacket $$$! I peeled it off and it left a 3 inch square of solid sticky residue. If you have ever tried to get sticker goo off your clothes you know how bad this is. I was trying to figure out how to wash this jacket and thinking of which combo of pre-treaters to use when I remembered this tape. It sticks as well as duct tape, but doesn't leave behind goo, so maybe it could pull goo off? I tore a piece off and taped it over the goo on my coat, pressed it down well, then quickly peeled it off and looked to see if it worked. The goo was GONE! No residue, no stickiness, no marks! It was like it had never been there! I didn't have to spend time pretreating and handwashing my coat just to see the goo still be there. It was wonderful and saved my down coat!!! My mom had that residue on another coat some weeks later. She had already pre-treated and washed the coat. It was not sticky anymore, but left an ugly and visible mark that wouldn't go away. I thought it couldn't hurt to try and put a piece of this tape across the mark, pressed it down well, then peeled it off. The mark came off with the tape and my mom is very happy. So, if I buy this only to pull sticky tag residue off clothes or items that have sales stickers on them, I would have gotten my money's worth and saved my sanity. I have used it for a lot of other things that duct tape would ruin, but this won't. Like another reviewer said, I never used it before, but now that I have it, I use it all the time. It tears really well and easily. I have never had to get scissors to cut this tape. I have also used it to remove goo left behind from duct tape that had been on leather for 20 years!

The tape feels very strong, but it's use may be limited by it's adhesion. It sticks well, but since it also removes easily, it's not as sticky as some. Kind of hard to have it both ways. As a result it leaves no residue behind. I think this will work well for binding cords, making temporary repairs, etc. A good tape to have on hand.

Bought this to take on photography trips. Gaffers tape can fix lots of different photography gear that may break when traveling. I keep some wound around one of my tripod legs. I take about 2 feet which is enough to use for most repairs on the go. Most recently I used it to tape up an oval camera eyecup that split. It worked great and leaves no sticky residue.

I am re-writing this review to really speak my mind about this tape. I purchased this tape in a pinch cause it was available for overnight delivery and I had a show the following day and needed gaff tape. I am a musician so I use gaff tape for everything, it is so versatile......not this product. I normally use Pro Gaff Tape brand. I don't even know what to consider this tape because this particular brand I am writing my review about is NOT gaff tape. This stuff doesn't even stick well. There's dry wall tape (tape that doesn't stick at all) and then next step above that would be THIS particular brand. I would say painters tape sticks better than this stuff! I use gaffer tape for everything in my music business, and I use it for everyday stuff around the house. I use it to hold wires to floors during shows, I use it to mark where things go on my stage setup, I use it to mark my mixers and label channels.....in my home I use it on the window sills so that I can use the adhesive backing of my LED lights to my windows without the adhesive ever touching the paint. After I purchased this product and used it for a show, all my wires did not stay where I wanted them, it was basically useless. So I wrote a review giving it one star. But kept the tape as an emergency back up in case I needed some in a pinch again that didn't require for long use. Totally forgot about it and found it the other day again, decided to give it one more try (it was stored on my office desk drawer so it was left in normal room temp conditions. I decided to hard wire my desktop to the internet and the router is in another room so without drilling I decided to run the wire from my room to that other room along the floor molding trim and the door trim (everything is white, my wires are white and this tape is white so I figured it would all blend in) finally got it all run and only left to do was tape it, began to tape it and I remembered how bad this tape was and was already realizing before I even finished that it wasn't gonna do the job, finished it anyways, left my house for an hour and came back to all my wires off of the wall and on the floor, the tape failed yet again. If you are looking to buy gaffer tape, don't buy this product just because it is cheaper because that is what you are literally buying.....is cheap tape. Instead spend 10-15 more dollars and go with Pro Gaff Tape brand, in my eyes and with experience using it, they are the best.......this Bates Brand though, sucks. If I could give it 0 stars I would
