Product Description

AudioControl LC2i PRO, 2 Channel Line Output Converter with Impedance Matching, AccuBASS & GTO, Audio Signal Sense, 12 V Turn On and ACR-1 Dash Remote Subwoofer Control

The AudioControl LC2i PRO joins ranks with AudioControl’s most popular active line output converter, the LC2i. Adding a sub? Planning a full system? Either way, get the best possible signal from your factory sound system to your amplifiers. Load selection switches mean OEM integration has never been easier and the LC1i and LC2i Pro will work with the most finicky factory sound systems. Installer friendly turn on trigger modes allow for flexibility via GTO Signal Sense (DC offset), audio sense, or remote 12 volt inputs. Upgrade to the LC2i PRO for AudioContol’s AccuBASS and the included ACR-1 level control.

The LC2i PRO features a full range Main Output as well as a low passed (1000 Hz) Bass Output. Use the LC2i PRO to quickly add a subwoofer or a compact front stage plus subwoofer to your factory system. AccuBASS can be used to compensate for factory bass roll-off or as an enriching low frequency boost. Once you’ve experienced AccuBASS, you’ll wonder how you lived without it.

Includes! AudioControl Universal Dash Remote (ACR1)

The ACR-1 is a great way to control the Bass Output level being sent to your subwoofer amplifier. The ACR-1 ONLY controls the level of the Bass Output and is strictly an attenuator knob. The ACR-1 will NEVER increase the Bass Output level past where Bass Output Level knob is set. The AudioControl ARC-1 Adds remote level control to your AudioControl LC2iPRO. Comes with a 20 foot cable and removable mounting enclosure (for custom dash installations). High in power, efficient in performance, reliable in service. User-friendly design, ergonomic handle, solid construction. This will become your right hand in DIY and repair projects. Made to meet stringent quality and safety requirements.

AUDIOCONTROL 2-CHANNEL COMPACT ACTIVE LINE OUTPUT CONVERTERS WITH ARC-1 REMOTE CONTROL
AudioControl LC2i PRO GTO

GTO Signal Sense

DC offset is a highfalutin technical term that means the LC2i PRO can sense when the head unit is on, not necessarily when audio is being sent to the LC2i PRO. Use GTO Signal Sense mode when your factory sound system outputs a DC offset when it is on.

AudioControl LC2i PRO ACR-1 Remote

ACR-1 Level Control (Included)

The ACR-1 is a great way to control the Bass Output level being sent to your subwoofer amplifier. The ACR-1 ONLY controls the level of the Bass Output and is strictly an attenuator knob. The ACR-1 will NEVER increase the Bass Output level past where Bass Output Level knob is set.

AudioControl LC2i PRO Audio Sense

Audio Sense

When this mode is selected, the LC2i PRO will ONLY turn on when you start playing a source from the head unit. Whether it be the radio, CD player or streaming via Bluetooth from a mobile device. If you turn the head unit on, but DON’T play audio, the LC2i PRO will not turn on.

AudioControl LC2i PRO Remote Selector

Remote Input/Output

Input: This is the traditional way to turn on the LC2i PRO and gives you more control of exactly when the unit will turn on. Most common places to connect the remote input are from the ignition of the vehicle, fuse box, or some other 12V source (such as a cigarette lighter).

Output: Use the Remote Output (Rmt Out) to trigger on your aftermarket amplifier. When the LC2i PRO turns on (regardless of method) the Remote Output will always be active. Do not connect more than two amplifiers to the LC2i PRO Remote Output. Connecting more than two amplifiers may damage the LC2i PRO.

AudioControl LC2i PRO Ground

Ground Isolation Switch

This handy switch allows the user to change how the LC2i PRO is grounded. Sometimes when installing car audio equipment, “ground buzz” or “alternator whine” will creep into the audio path, wreaking havoc on your listening experience. There are 3 positions. GND, ISO, and 200 ohms. The unit ships from the factory in the ISO position.

GND - Power ground and audio ground are tied together.

ISO - Power ground and audio ground are separate.

200Ω - There is 200 ohms of resistance between power ground and audio ground.

AudioControl LC2i PRO

Load Selection Switch

The LC2i PRO is designed to present NO load to the output of the factory amp, which can make some factory amps upset and may stop passing audio. The Load Selection feature tricks the factory amp in to detecting a speaker load so it will continue to pass audio.

20 Ω - Best suited for late model Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram/Fiat vehicles equipped with OEM base sound system. (no separate factory amplifier)

60 Ω - Best suited for late model Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram/Fiat vehicles equipped with a separately amplified OEM “premium” sound system.

20 kΩ - Best suited for all other applications

AudioControl LC2i PRO Levels

Setting Levels - Main Output

Main Output: Fixed full range output suitable for connecting to multi-channel amplifiers for door speakers. Use the Main Output Level knob to adjust level for this output.

Bass Output: Variable low passed output (1000 Hz low pass) and is suitable for connecting to a subwoofer amplifier. Use the Bass Output Level knob to adjust level for this output. Once the Bass Output level is set for optimum signal, level can be adjusted on the fly using the included ACR-1 level control.

AudioControl LC2i PRO Power 12V

Power

As awesome as it is that the LC2i PRO can be turned on 3 different ways, you still very much need to connect the LC2i PRO to constant +12V power and ground.

Maybe one day science will invent a way to electrically power devices via the sweet guitar solo of Jimi Hendrix, but until then, we need +12V power and ground.

Although these are primarily used for car audio to enable addition of amplifiers and subwoofer to a factory radio , I used this as a home receiver tool to add pre-outs to run my Center channel from a secondary amplifier. This allowed me to run 2 Center speakers together bi-wired using a channel A+B amplifier as secondary mode. To power it, I repurposed a USB Sata adapter power supply ( for external drives) and was able to run a trigger wire from the main receiver to power it on at the same time as the main receiver.I was very happy with the result. It widened the presence of the Center speakers (2) considerably and sounded awesome.

Easy way to derive clean bass signal from a system with no subwoofer output. In hindsight I would have ordered the audio control mini amplifier which has this built in. It would have saved space and time during install...

Be careful when ordering this product because the return window is 30 days after ordered. Unfortunately I only installed the product 2 weeks after receiving it, only giving me less than 2 weeks to figure out what's wrong. My factory system from my new car has a premium sound system which has an amplifier and built in crossovers. The sound was distorted. I just ordered audiocontrol's Dm-608, which will hopefully work well.

This is one of the best like output converters I’ve ever used, my civic can now be heard from the 17th floor of my building, public disturbance mode is what I call it

If you're like me and have a newer vehicle with lots of factory options that run through the head unit, going aftermarket can be a huge pain in the rear. This active LOC has crystal clear sound output without all the engine noise and muddy sound processing from a budget aftermarket setup. Works even better if your car has a factory amplifier with a low frequency output. It's also fairly easy to install whether you have very little experience, or many years of car audio under your belt. There are also some very easy to follow youtube guides that explain all of the features and how to easily set them.

For years I was running a cheap active LOC in my 2014 hyundai veloster turbo, and I wanted more from my subs. I'm running two alpine type R's (swr-10d4) 1000W RMS each, wired to one ohm on a Hifonics Brutus (BRX2000.1D) 2000W RMS @ 1 ohm.I wanted to upgrade my prefab box thinking this was my issue. I did some research and found that I have my gains set too low and after setting this to the proper level it sounded louder but still sounded distorted. It was then I understood my cheap LOC was the reason why, I was getting distortion with barely any preout voltage (had to turn my gain 'way up' to match the low preout voltage.)I decided to bite the bullet on this LC2I. I tapped into the factory subwoofer and played a 50hz 0db test tone through my radio, set at 30/35, turned my level up on my LC2I until the maximized light came on, then backed it off a little. To set my gains on my amp, I took the square root of my 2000w amp multiplied by the one ohm to get my target voltage at the amps output terminal (44.72 V)I then tested my voltage with a DDM at the amps outputs terminals and used the amps gain knob to achive my target voltage of 44.72. The gain was turned down substantially compared to when I was using the cheap LOC, proving the new LC2I was providing a higher preout voltage. The quality and clarity of the subs are now night and day different. I wish i did this upgrade alot sooner. This was well worth the money spent, and if you are using a cheap LOC and looking for more out of your system this is a no brainer. Just do it.

Definitely recommend if your system is stock. This will help bring the true output your subs need. If you have an aftermarket head unit this won't be needed. I wanted to retain the oem unit at least for a while until I find an aftermarket one down the line(money). Installation wasnt too bad, found a few youtube videos that helped. Works great, and the remote bass knob hasn't had any issues. The old Skar remote bass knob took a crap so hopefully this one is better quality. These are Skar SVR series 10" in their enclosure. I'm sure a custom box would be a better upgrade, but this hits pretty hard for now.
