Good replacements for my old and broken tailgate cables. Now my tailgate actually stays in place when lowered instead of hitting the bumper. So far they have held up 259 lb without any give. I haven't had a heavy load to really test there durability though. But they seem to be good quality and should hold up well. I'm decently rough on them. Hence why my originals were broken.

These cables fit my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The old cables had gitten rusty in the bend where they fold up when you close the tailgate. I was afraid that the old cables would eventually snap when I put something heavy on the tailgate. To prevent an accident I wanted to go ahead and replace the damaged tailgate cables.The top comes off easily, just by lifting a safety tab. The bottom requires you to remove a torx bolt.
