Strapped the camera to the rick the other day and shot some videos and it turned out great. Will be mounting it to a tripod and also sticking it to the rink glass to record my daughter's hockey games. Took it to Bahamas and swimming with it a few weeks back and videos were pretty clear under water and yes it works well underwater as it describes.

UPDATE 6 MONTHS LATER: 6 months after I tested this unit and wrote the below review, and returned for a refund, Akaso contacted me by email and offered to send a replacement camera had no charge. I received the new camera and and tested it, but it is identical to the first one and the engineering flaws which I referenced in my original review below have not changed. I originally gave it 2 stars but because they sent a replacement unit I will give them 3 stars (one more star) for their customer service effort. Unfortunately my opinion of this device remains the same, and I will not be using it.****ORIGINAL RECIEW 6 MONTHS AGO: I really wanted to say positive things about this model. The main reason of course like every body else is I didn't want to spend the money on a Go Pro. I was thinking I'll be very clever and get this Akaso instead. However, after testing it there's just so many things wrong with it I can even tell you where to start. For example, it often overheats an error messages on the screen saying overheated shutting off. I've been going back and forth with their chat support about some of the issues. The remote control wristband does not easily pair with the camera, and cannot be used at the same time that the android phone app is connected. The Akaso phone ap is a total joke (which is why it is rated 3 stars in google play). I was unimpressed with the motion stabilization feature of the phone, compared to the go Pro. Of course, once again, I was just hoping to save money. But you get what you pay for it appears to be the case here as well. Most recent cased, after using the camera for 10 minutes, and it showed a remaining battery balance of 57%, I turned the camera off. To my horror, when I waited a few minutes and try to turn the camera on again, nothing happened. After 10 minutes of fiddling with the power button, I then contacted their chat support again. She gave instructions about taking out the battery, reformatting the ST card, etc. etc. You have got to be kidding. This is a brand-new phone and it should not be buggy like this. So I learned my lesson, and I am sharing with you Amazon readers. My advice is to just do without an action camera until you can afford Go Pro. Back to Amazon it goes for a refund.
