The ABN Ratcheting Brake Piston Compressor Tool helps you to quickly and easily compress and align pistons into place to make room for thick replacement brake pads.
A Closer Look
360-DEGREE SWING
The carbon steel handle and ratchet wheel provide a 360-degree swing that allows you to keep the 4.6 by 2.4-inch or 7 by 2.4-inch compression plates in place while you ratchet the handle back and forth to spread or retract the distance between the plate to create force against the pistons.
BRAKE PAD SPREADER PLATES
2 sets of piston brake pad spreader plates spread from 1-9/16 to 2-3/8 inches (2.5 to 5.1 cm) to allow plenty of room to install new brake pads.
A PERFECT FIT
Disc brake caliper set works well on single, double, quad, or rear brake calipers making this set ideal for most vehicles on the road. Larger plates are held in place with built-in magnets.

This will not work with some imports as the minimum retracted dimension will not fit into some import calipers. It is fine for full sized trucks and vans even thought the magnetic extension plates for dual calipers won't stay on as much as expected. This could use stronger magnets. The ratcheting portion will not engage until there is some pressure on the device.

After always used a c clamp and a thin piece of metal. I finally decided to buy this ratcheting caliper tool. Let me tell you, it made things so much easier! I'm glad I finally decided to buy one. The quality of the tool and build quality are great, it functions very easily, and it was well worth the money.

The tool is sturdy and made of good, solid material. I just have two small issues: 1) you have to apply some sort of hand pressure to get the spreader started in order to have the ratchet engage, and 2) the larger plates, while attached by magnets and lined up with dimples, are somewhat awkward to keep in place while engaging the ratchet. Once engaged, however, the tool works very well. It just might take some getting used to. No regrets buying it.
