I have a nest camera that has a hard time reaching my gate with IR. I added this above the gate facing downwards and now I can see that area bright and clear. Take a look at the photos with the IR on vs off.

Totally Solved The Problem of not being able to see at night past our long row of tall trees. Lit up thearea well. The IR Illuminator is placed outside and uncovered, but has held up well during rain, wind and heat. Good investment. Thank you!

The glass is completely black when off, and the lights can be seen faintly when they are on. The range is very good, and the spread is wide enough to cover a typical front yard. I have this mounted inside of a bedroom window, pointing outside to my car and driveway. Its 25-30 feet from the car and illuminates it very well. It also covers the yard at the same time. Again, this is from the inside of the front window.Let's see. The cord is five or six feet long, and the day night sensor works well. The light itself is metal, the bracket is metal and the lens is glass.It's good for the price.

I installed this for my security camera as it was pointed more towards the house and I needed a little more IR down the side. This did the trick so well that I bough a second one for a blind spot that was by my shed. Get the right size based on the area you are wanting to paint. It works great. I will likely get one more for another area that is just slightly out of reach of my camera's IR.
