It slipped in without a fight, the actuator provided in my experience works beautifully, I know I saw some other reviewers had experienced non working actuators, so just in case I kept the original to have on hand if this one fails prematurely. But it definitely solved the awful noise I had in 4 wheel drive. It was NOT easy to get to, but blame the engineers for that! I suggest also replacing the CV axle. Mine was jammed into the old unit since the bearing on the old unit was bad. Not a big deal as I had already purchased a CV axle because mine was bad. I was still able to remove all 4 bolts holding it on (there’s only 4 bolts that mount the unit, the other 4 are for the case) just hold your new unit up and look for where the bolts are on the new unit as opposed to the old unit and you’ll see which bolts need to come out! Best of luck!

Cheap quality. Failed almost instantly. Had to eat the part and get the customer a much better quality one costing us substantially more money. Couldn't return for a refund due to the axle gear locking onto the axle. We had to destroy the actuator to save the axle.

Car parts are getting hard to come by. This was exactly what we needed to get my husband's trailblazer back on the road. It was perfect.
