Très bonne sableuse mais j'ai eu problème avec, elle a cessé de fonctionner sans raison, echangé avec Amazone mais la deuxième s'arrête aléatoirement... mais elle fonctionne encore. Communiqué avec 3M et bon service dans ma région.

I bought this when it first came out and was the new "competition" sander for festool. Wrong. This sander has very aggressive directional change to the point it grabs and vibrates. Added to that is the fact it heats up to the point it is uncomfortable to touch. I just bought a festool to replace this one.

Do not buy this expensive paper weight. It will work and feel great for a few months then it will die. You will have to pay over 50% of new cost to fix it and then it will die again. Save a little longer and go with the festool or mirka.

I bought the xtract 6", 3/16 random orbit sander in September of 2023. I made the decision based on the high praise it had been receiving on Youtube and from all the reviews I've read. With the 3M being about $175 cheaper than the Festool ETS150 I figured that it was a no brainer in value.I began having issues almost immediately. After about 15 minutes of continuous use on from spalted maple bench tops I was making, the sander would just shut off and the lights would flash red. This was while using 3M's own cubitron sandpaper, hooked up to a Festool CT Midi dust extractor with a 3D printed adapted to ensure a proper connection to the sander. The flashing lights indicated the sander was overheating. So I unplugged the sander and cleaned it out thoroughly with a brush and compressed air. This got the sander to run again, but the same issues would persist throughout the next few months. I've run this sander for regularly, but I'd say relatively lightly compared to more professional shops. (I'm mostly doing house renovations, guitar builds, and one off projects for friends) and this week, March of 2024, the sander just shut off in the middle of completing a very large project. I was eventually able to get it running at very low speed, but anything above the 3rd light would cause it to instantly shut off and reset the sander.Getting in contact with 3M support wasn't the worst experience, but it also wasn't easy to get to the right person to help me. Probably about an hour of total phone time and looking up different support numbers. I'm about three days into waiting for the slip to mail it back to them because they choose to mail it to you instead of emailing it. Discussing the issues the sander is having with their repair tech, he stated that it sounded like the PCB had probably fried itself. The fact that that is even a possibility to be a defect is pretty annoying. I was experiencing issues from day one and put up with them because the sander does do a good job when it is working, ran very smooth without vibrations causing fatigue, and I could usually get about 30 minutes of sanding done without overheating as long as I occasionally stopped to blow it out with compressed air. But It was essentially defective from the start and only took 6 months to completely kill itself. If I was a professional who was relying on this tool to perform for my lively hood, It would have been returned day one. When I get this back from repair it's going on FB Marketplace and I'll be purchasing the Festool ETS 150 in its place.

This thing kicks butt. Cuts sanding time in half easily. Light weight , low profile, quiet, and no vibrating hands after using, very smooth. Dust collection is excellent through my 2 stage dust collector, 4 inch to 3in to adapter duct taped to the sander since I don't have the exact connection. This is using 3m extract disks.Only con is the price. But you really do get what you pay for. I have no regrets for spending the money. I do a lot of cutting boards and this sander hasn't missed a beat. All I can say is, hey if you're old like me and have a couple dollars...go for it. And if you are younger, it may be the last sander that you will ever buy... I've had my share of Dewalt, Bosch, craftsman and the like. 3m puts them to shame....

Update: After the third one failed I’ve decided to move on from this product. After months of research I’m pretty confident that this sander is made at the same factory as the Mirka and Metabo. They have the same form factor and operate identically. If you take them apart you’ll see the same components. All three experience the same failure issues. Good luck with service after the warranty expires. Don’t waste your money on this tool. Spend a few dollars more and get the Festool. At least you get piece of mind with their warranty.Sander failed 2 months after purchasing. Amazon customer service was exceptional. The price of the sander had increased since purchase. Customer service gave me a credit for the difference. I purchased a second sander in its replacement. The quality of the 3M sander is questionable because of the failure. Although I will give 3M the benefit of the doubt. They are known for making great products. The design is very impressive and does a great job. Dust collection is excellent with the 3M sandpaper. I've used a 6 inch anti-viberation Bosch sander for years with no issues. The biggest difference is the weight and overall size. The Bosch is very heavy and not as comfortable to use. Although I'm skeptical of the quality of the motor of the 3M sander. The other major difference is the noise level. The 3M sander is very quiet compared to my Bosch. I hope the 3M sander doesn't fail again, I enjoy using it, but for the cost I expect it to last 5-8 years, not 5 months.

I thought this was a great product when I got it. . .and probably still would if it worked. I'm just past the warranty period and have only used it under normal conditions in my hobby woodworking shop. For a hobby, I probably spend about 5-10 hours in the shop per week. A month ago, it started cutting out when I was working. I assumed somehow that the palm of my hand was hitting the power button so I'd turn it back on and go to work. It's gotten worse till today it will only run for about 5 seconds before dying. A new symptom finally showed up as well, now when it cuts out, even the red light is gone for a while. I set the sander down and a couple seconds later the red light comes on. I'm assuming it's loose electrical inside, but the fact that it does this with no movement and sometimes comes back up with no movement makes me wonder if the heat system is malfunctioning and cutting me off for no reason at all. For a sander this expensive that's supposed to work in industrial applications, I'm pretty annoyed. I have projects to complete and my faith in 3M is at an all time low. A lot of the early reviews were very good and it seems now there's a lot of negative. Frustrating as hell!
