Siemens introduces the new simple, spacious and secure Plug-on neutral load centers with electronic breakers. The dual-function circuit breaker combines class A 5mA GFCI and combination type AFCI, protecting against both arc faults and ground faults. This, along with the new self-test feature, makes it the first in class in electrical safety for homeowners. This Dual Function circuit breaker is the same, reliable design, without the pigtail, specifically designed for the Plug-On Neutral Load Centers. Simple, Spacious, Secure. The Siemens Plug-On Neutral Combination Type AFCI breaker detects arcing faults (an unintentional arcing condition in a circuit) that standard circuit breakers are unable to detect. This AFCI circuit breaker is the same, reliable design, without the pigtail, specifically design for the Plug-On Neutral Load Centers. These breakers now only have a single load lug. The branch neutral conductor is returned to the neutral terminal bar for simpler and quicker wiring.

The plug-on-neutral breakers are fantastic when you need AFCI or GFCI functions, which may be required for new applications or wet areas. It makes for very clean wiring without those coiled up neutral wires. There are many complaints about AFCI in general, but these breakers have been good for me in most all situations with quality wiring. If you have tripping issues, check the proper wiring. I found that other than my Dewalt table saw which trips anywhere 50% of the time at start, the AFCI/GFCI breakers have been trouble-free.These breakers came in plastic bags instead of the typical clam-shell plastic that you would get from the big-box stores. It may be that they are returns or bulk packaging that was sub-divided, but I had no issues with their operation or installation. As it was cheaper then the box stores, it is probably the case, but I cannot be sure.
