If you're an avid hiker this is a great item to take with you. This emergency blanket is very light weight and small and even attach via a carabiner to the outside of your bag or a water bottle if you are limited for space. It's something you could take on a longer or shorter hike because it's just that small but is also super versatile. This is especially helpful if you get lost because it provides both an emergency shelter or sleeping bag to survive through the night as well as is bright orange so you are more likely to be spotted should you need rescue. The whistle is okay but I would bring my own.Once you take it out it is a pain to get back in, but not impossible and luckily this is something you shouldn't have to do too often.

While I hopefully will never have to use these for a real emergency situation they’re certainly worth having. They’re compact and yet large enough for a shelter and certainly big enough to wrap yourself up in. While the whistle isn’t top notch it would certainly be better that yelling. It might take a couple folds to get them back in its pouch as they’re pretty snug. However, usually once they’re out, they’re out for good so it isn’t a big deal and is more of a mention.Overall, I would recommend and will update if there’s any unexpected flaws during use.
