These filters are of a synthetic polyester material that hold up very well to moisture, and filter out debris like dust and dirt. I have used them not only for filtering incoming air in our RV air conditioning unit, but also for a few other uses. I have found that they work very well as filters for reducing or eliminating contaminants in an oyster mushroom growing chamber that I use in my classroom, and I have one currently installed in the intake manifold of my car to cut down on dust from our dirt road, and to extend the life of my air filter.
